Tolerance – Kevin Hildebrandt
6 September 2014 Kip
A student of Dave Stryker and longtime Rutgers professor Ted Dunbar, Kevin Hildebrandt brings a new perspective to jazz repertoire while keeping it firmly rooted in the blues. He is also a recipient of the Louis Armstrong Jazz Award! Bringing together Radam Schwartz’s driving organ playing and the perfectly spaced drumming of Alvester Garnett, this is gritty and very hip stuff with just the right amount of blues vocals throughout. Hildebrandt has shared the stage with the Bob Mintzer Big Band and guitar legend Bucky Pizzarelli, and opened for notable acts such as Johnny Winter, Levon Helm, Johnnie Johnson, and Dickey Betts.
