Biography

James Wilson (French horn) has been principal horn of The Florida Orchestra since 1992 and a member of the Santa Fe Opera Orchestra since 1995. He attended the Interlochen Arts Academy, earned his bachelor’s degree from Northwestern University, and a master’s degree from Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music. Mr. Wilson was a member of the Houston Ballet Orchestra and, for 2 years, principal horn with the Houston Grand Opera Orchestra. He has performed on several recordings, including Dragons in the Sky with Thomas Bacon, Meredith Monk’s Atlas: An Opera in Three Parts (ECM New Series label), Stephen Montague’s From the White Edge of Phrygia and Symphonic Dances – with The Florida Orchestra
