The philosophy behind this recording is to disregard any of the widely held limitations of the trombone as a solo instrument. It encompasses performances of music written for other instruments and performed as they would be performed on the intended instruments, including ornamentation. This CD also utilizes the trombone in conjunction with accompaniments that, while traditionally Baroque, would not usually be associated with the trombone. The end result is Larry Zalkind breaking new ground for the Baroque music, - on trombone!
