Many of the greatest works for the horn feature the instrument in a characteristically lyrical role. This collection, Canto, celebrates the singing tone of the horn through representative works for horn and piano from the 19th and 20th centuries. John Ericson balances an active career as a performer and teacher of the horn. Equally at home in music of all periods, Ericson has made recordings with The Potsdam Brass Quintet, The Nashville Symphony, and other ensembles. Pianist Eckart Sellheim maintains a very active performance schedule, having made concert tours in the U.S., Latin America, the Caribbean, the Middle East, Africa, and throughout Europe. He appears regularly on radio programs in the U.S. & abroad and has made more than 20 recordings as piano & fortepiano soloist and collaborative pianist.
