Her debut recording on vocals, Heather Bennett presents “Lazy Afternoon”, a wonderfully arranged jazz vocal recording with a quality lineup of musicians that include;

Bill Mobley on trumpet

Pete McCann on guitar

Mike Richmond on bass

Tom Horner on drums

From pop favorites to jazz standards this recording illustrates Heather Bennett’s arranging skills and her rather ‘dreamy-like’ voice and its gelling with an incredible cast of musicians…the vocalist sings, the instrumentalists sing…From the euphoric start of Mobley’s trumpet w/ Bennett’s voice on “Zingaro” through a spine tingling rendition of “True Colors” (of Cindy Lauper fame) this recording is done extremely well.

Bennett has performed with her own groups at jazz clubs throughout New York City and surrounding areas. Along with solo piano concerts throughout Europe, Ms. Bennett (with Billy Hart and Dennis Irwin) has been featured at the Melon Jazz Festival in Philadelphia. She has also done numerous Texas tours featuring her music mainly in the cities of Austin, Houston, San Antonio and Dallas. She has performed and/or recorded with numerous musicians world-wide.

Jazz guitarist Pete McCann has been an integral part of the New York City jazz scene for 25 years. A sought-after sideman from duos to big bands, he has played guitar on over 100 CDs. Mike Richmond has been featured on over 350 recordings (12 solo) and has recorded/performed internationally with world-renowned musicians. New York drummer Tim Horner is one of New York’s most in-demand jazz drummers and Bill Mobley is a renowned New York City trumpet player with an incredible ‘tone’ and a rich history.
