Music Director Dennis Colwell continues to realize the group’s foundation and purpose to bring about the revival of the grass-roots tradition of the American brass band. This CD offers a fresh take on classical music, while it pays homage to the masters.

The recording showcases the diversity of the River City Brass Band’s performance proficiencies and its signature style, as it explores works by classical masters including Mussorgsky and Copland, and introduces us to contemporary pioneers.

Comprised of 28 outstanding professional musicians, the River City Brass Band creates the lush richness of any symphony orchestra, offers the intimacy of a chamber ensemble, surges with the toe-tapping brilliance of a military band, and swings in a big band style.

The River City Brass Band is currently touring nationally throughout the southwest and northeast. Every performance features the witty and insightful commentary of current Music Director and Conductor, Dennis Colwell.
