The music of bass trombonist Jim Morris is a constant discovery -always electrifying, rich and expansive but never easy to categorize. This debut release from his eclectic nonet, Brass Plus (two trumpets, french horn, bass and tenor trombones plus rhythm section) runs the gamut from classical to jazz. It features innovative arrangements of compositions by such greats as Freddie Hubbard, Oliver Nelson, Bill Evans and even Claude Debussy.
