Brilliant treatment of classic material from Cole Porter, Antonio Carlos Jobim and King Curtis is combined with some impressive original compositions…this recording is all about the interplay of solid sax and lush vocal – in the tradition of Lester Young/Billie Holiday, John Dankworth/Cleo Laine, Houston Person/Etta James. Blake shines with his sax and the interplay with the beautiful vocals of Maria Shaheen is ‘heart-touching’ – memorable moments that will have the listener humming the tunes afterwards…

Recorded, engineered and mixed by multi-grammy winner Jay Dudt, the recording’s personnel includes Jeff Lashway (successful solo artist and pianist for Maynard Ferguson’s Big Bop Nouveau band the last six years’ of its existence) and Roger Humphries (acclaimed jazz drummer, played on Horace Silver’s classic “Song For My Father”). Blake is an experienced tenorist/altoist who has most recently had success with chart making recordings.
